Earth 2024

May 8 @ 6:30 pm - 7:45 pm

Through the long journey from prehistory to modern times, man’s ingenuity to harness fire and split the atom has defined both us and the planet we live on.  We have prospered and grown to levels beyond any other organism in Earth’s history.  But we have also inadvertently created great peril for ourselves and the rest of life on earth.  Many of us now look at the planet with growing concern. How long can we continue without changing course?  Don’t we have a moral obligation to preserve the earth’s natural systems that made our lives so abundant?  What kind of world will we leave for our children?   The choices we make today will provide the answer.

Evidence is revealed to us daily that the natural systems of the earth have begun to wobble and we are closing in on the point of no return. Every day, more and more people realize this, and that we’ve done this to ourselves.  But by knowing this, we therefore also realize we can undo it.   With every presentation of Earth 2024, this awareness spreads and the army of citizens who will fight for the future of humanity (our kids) – grows!   There is no time to waste.   Will you join us?

Earth 2024 examines these big issues in a fascinating and original 65-minute multimedia presentation. This event is sponsored by the Granby Land Trust and the Granby Public Library.
